FAQ

FAQ’s

Q. Do you ship to Canada?
A.
Yes we do ship to Canada and many other countries. But our online store at DNLPhoto.com will only accept wholesale orders from the Continental US or Canada.

Q.
Is a wholesale account required to order from DNLPhoto.com?
A. Definitely not, but you will have to call to place an order if you are outside the Continental USA. 800-845-9435

Q. How do I sign up for a wholesale account?
A. Fill out the required form on our Wholesale Account Request page.

Q. What are the differences between a wholesale and retail account?
A. The retail side of our store was created with smaller photographers in mind. The prices are higher on the retail side but the shipping cost is much lower and is predetermined based on the total cost of the order.

Q. What about the wholesale account?
A. The wholesale side of DNLPhoto.com features wholesale prices (obviously) and shipping costs that are determined by the actual products ordered. These shipping costs are as close to our actual shipping cost as our store can calculate.

Q. What is less expensive, wholesale or retail?
A. Wholesale is less expensive on large orders and retail is sometimes less expensive on smaller orders. The price difference on smaller orders between wholesale and retail is often very small.

Q. How do you ship to Canada?
A. Our preferred carrier to Canada is FedEx. We have negotiated a fantastic rate for Fedex International Economy services to Canada. Delivery is usually in 3-4 days and the negotiated price is just a bit above regular FedEx and UPS ground rates.

Q. Why not just ship it FedEx ground and save me some money?
A. Fedex International Economy service includes broker fees! When you add the brokers fees to traditional ground service and compare to our Fedex International Economy rate the difference is very small.

Q. What about duties and taxes?
A. The customer is responsible for all duties and taxes.

Q. Why don’t you ship USPS to Canada?
A. We have and can ship to Canada with USPS. We find the service to be slow and tracking packages to be difficult.

Q. OK I’m not in a hurry, will you ship my order to me with USPS?
A. Yes, we will definitely do that for you. You just need to order by phone and specify your shipping preference.

Q. Are there any drawbacks to USPS besides the transit speed and tracking deficiencies?
A. Glad you asked. Last year we had a customer place a large order that shipped USPS in two different packages. One of the packages delivered perfectly but the second package was missing. We contacted USPS and tried to locate the package. We were told that it would be up to 30 days until our package could be found, delivered or considered lost.

Q. So?
A. The customer had already paid for the merchandise. It would be unfair for the customer to wait over 30 days to recieve the second package. If we sent the replacement merchandise out right away and than the original was found we have a dilema.

Q. What finally happened?
A.
The package delivered a few days later. We learned a lesson and switched to FedEx soon after that.

Q. Why is this so long?
A. Nobody really reads these things.
